Have I mention before that Chinese people are brilliant? They really are, where else can you find such a beautiful writing character (mighty difficult do learn though) that can also be used to draw something that represent that very character? Japan maybe, but Japanese character is originated from China, so I rest my case. I'm sure I already mentioned to you that I'm not a big fan of Chinese language, seriously, why do they talk like they're mad or something? Can't their language be cuter like Japanese are? And the character, oh my Goddess, there's a lot of it, with different meaning and different way to read, and different way to use! I give up! Thankfully I still have my Pleco dictionary, my lifesaver in case of Chinese character.
Anyway, I want to share with you something I love about Chinese language, their beautiful Chinese character. So, the way the Chinese people writing now has changed from how it used to be. In fact, their writing used to be a drawing, that evolve into Chinese character. Here some example:
Do you notice the resemblance of the modern Chinese character with their respective drawing? Very cool isn't it?

1. Huài xiǎohái 坏小孩
Character: 坏 "bad"; 小 "small"; 孩 "child, kid"
Meaning: bad little child
2. Cháng mìng bǎi suì 长命百岁
Character: 长 "long, length"; 命 "life, destiny"; 百 "hundred; numerous"; 岁 "year"
Meaning: a life of a hundred years; live to a ripe old age; longevity
Awesome drawing, in addition this is also a four-letter idiom, a chéngyǔ 成语.
3. Kuàilè wángzǐ 快乐王子
Character: 快 "swift, quick"; 乐 "happy, cheerful, joyful"; 王 "king, monarch, prince"; 子 "son, child, person"
Meaning: the happy prince
Personally I think this drawing looks more like a king than a prince, but it still look very cool!
4. Xióng shī 雄狮
Character: 雄 "male, grand, mighty"; 狮 "lion"
Meaning: male lion
It's so cute!! It's awesome~
5. Xióng 熊
Character: 熊 "bear"
Meaning: bear
Does it looks like a bear for you?
6. Xiè 蟹
Character: 蟹 "crab"
Meaning: crab
A rather unbalanced crab..
7. Tángsēng 唐僧
Character: 唐 "exaggerative, boastful, in vain, Tang Dynasty"; 僧 "Buddhist monk, monk"
Meaning: Tang monk
Well, I can see the monk, I don't know if he's from the Tang Dynasty..
8. Sūnwùkōng 孙悟空
Character: 孙 "son's son, grandson, a surname"; 悟 "realize, awaken"; 空 "empty, hollow, void, sky, air, in vain"
Meaning: It's a name, Sūnwùkōng, who don't recognize this naughty monkey from Journey to the West?
Isn't that picture cute?? I can see how naughty Sūnwùkōng is.
9. Měilì de jiāxiāng 美丽的家乡
Character: 美 "beautiful, pretty, good"; 丽 "beautiful; depend on"; 的 (a particle); 家 "family, household, home"; 乡 "country, village, native place, hometown, township"
Meaning: beautiful hometown
Wherever we go, however far we travel, we always remember our own hometown.
10. Měilì de gūniáng 美丽的姑娘
Character: 美 "beautiful, pretty, good"; 丽 "beautiful; depend on"; 的 (a particle); 姑 "father's sister, aunt, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, nun"; 娘 "mother, a form of address for an elderly married woman, a young woman"
Meaning: beautiful girl

11. Lù 鹿
Character: 鹿 "deer"
Meaning: deer
Can you see the deer?
12. Xióng yīng áoxiáng 雄鹰翱翔
Character: 雄 "male, grand, mighty"; 鹰 "eagle"; 翱 "take wing"; 翔 "circle in the air"
Meaning: eagle soar
Look how mighty that eagle is!
