Night World series by L.J. Smith [Book 04-06]

So as I promise before, this is the continuation of the Night World series summary.

Prologue:

The Night World.. Love was never so scary.

The Night World isn't a place. It's all around us. It's a secret society of vampires, werewolves, witches, and other creatures of darkness that live among us. They're beautiful and deadly and irresistible to humans. Your high school teacher could be one, and so could your boyfriend.

The Night World laws say it's okay to hunt humans. It's okay to toy with their hearts, it's even okay to kill them. There are only two things you can't do with them.

1. Never let them find out the Night World exists.

2. Never fall in love with one of them.

These are stories about what happens when the rules get broken.

#4. Dark Angel

Gillian Lennox, an ordinary petite girl had only two ambitions: 1) David Blackburn, and, 2) To be invited to the parties the popular kids were invited to, the thing is she is anything but. When her best friend, Amy Nowick had forgotten to wait for her after school, she has no other option but to walk home from school near wooded area. Angry and cold, she walk home and hear sobs coming from the woods. She is hesitant to enter the wooded area, but she worried that someone might be in trouble. She tried to search for the source of the sobbing sound, but unfortunately she loses her balance and fall into the water. Even though she managed to drag herself out of the water, she is freezing and tired and succumb to hypothermia, she watch her soul departing from her body.
She finds herself in a magnificent meadow, but when she see a passage, she knows it is the true afterlife. There she met a boy (or a spirit boy) who call himself "Angel". He convince her to go back to life and help her go back to her home. "Angel" help Gillian get everything she wanted, David and popularity. But "Angel" started to make strange request and people start getting hurt. "Angel" tell Gillian that she actually a Hearth-Woman, a descendant of Hellewise Hearth-Woman and her mother, Hecate Witch-Queen, and a member of the Harman family, therefore she can claim her rights in the Night World as a witch. Things turns dangerous when Gillian learns that "Angel" is a spirit with an unfinished business.

#5. The Chosen

Vampire: John Quinn

When Rashel Jordan is 5, she witness a vampire with blood red hair and gold eyes drains her close friend, Timmy and kill her mother. She managed to flee from the vampire grasp, but the vampire promised that he will meet her again later. She manages to save herself again when the vampire set a fire on her Aunt, Corrine house and killed her Aunt in it. She know she needs to use all her wits to stay alive, she moved from one foster family to another, and she keep telling them what she sees, a vampire that kills her family, a vampire that wants to kill her, but nobody believe a little kid story. Finally one of her foster family believed her, because they are a vampire hunter. She grows up to be a notorious and accomplished vampire hunter, The Cat. When she joined with a group of another vampire hunter to investigate a series of missing young woman, they managed to capture a vampire, not just a vampire, but the notorious-for-hating-humans vampire, John Quinn.
She knows he's been doing bad things, kidnapping girls, killing humans, and he's everything she dedicate all her life for to hunt and kill. But she can't bring herself to kill him and she release him unharmed, causing her fellow vampire hunter to doubt her, worse, the newest member, Nyala get hysteric and threaten her to tell all the world that she's a sympathizer, Rashel The Cat is with the vampire. The only thing that protect her is that no vampire alive know who she is, what her name and her appearance. She don't know which is worse, to be hunted by vampire or by her fellow vampire hunter.

#6. Soulmate

Human: Hannah Snow
Vampire: Thierry Descouendres

Hannah Snow reluctantly visit a therapist, Paul Winfield, because she's convinced that she's going crazy. She keeps finding notes --a notes with her own writing-- that warning her that she is in danger and she won't live past 17th birthday. The things is she knows the notes can't possibly be written by her, because she doesn't understand what the notes means. And strange things keep happening to her, she felt someone --or something-- following her, she feels eyes on her, she have nightmares about the apocalypse, and a big wolf attacking her in the middle of her therapy session, but the weirdest of all, another wolf --smaller wolf, a female wolf, though Hannah doesn't understand why she knows that the smaller wolf is female-- is protecting her.
Her therapist suggest a hypnotist session, but the thing is, he didn't really believe in it and he's very inexperienced. From the session she found out that she is an Old Soul and she's been reincarnated lots of time. She keep seeing a boy, a very handsome vampire boy that kills her in every reincarnation, and a beautiful girl that seems dangerous, but somehow keep telling her that the vampire boy is obsessed with her and for her to stay away from him. She don't know why or how, but she knows that the vampire boy, Thierry Descouendres is calling something from deep in her soul, she knows that Thierry is her soulmate. But why is he keep killing her? Things doesn't add up, and now Thierry and the vampire girl, Maya has found her again in this lifetime.

Whew, that's a lot of summary. I have to be honest though, I'm not a fan of this 3 books, but it still worth reading, at least once. I'll do the next book in another post again. See you guys later~
