Manga I Read 01

I love good book, almost every kind of books, be it a novel, comic book, manga, manhua, manhwa, dictionary, encyclopedia, etc. Some may think I'm strange for liking dictionary, but I do, I found dictionary interesting. I have various dictionary in my collection, mostly it's English-Indonesian or English-English, I also have Japanese-Indonesian and Mandarin-Indonesian. It's natural, since I like vocabulary better than grammar. Actually I don't like grammar. My Indonesian language exam is the worst when I'm in high school. I'm Indonesian, but I only got 76 points (if I remember correctly) for my Indonesian language national exam, and 98 points for the English language exam, strange eh? But I believe most of us won't get a high score for our own mother language exam, my reason is because we usually use our language informally that when we have to use it formally, we have some difficulties. At last I think that's why for me.

Anyway, Here is some manga that I read and a bit of their story.

Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner

A big, visible pore is a big problem for me. It's unpleasant to look at and I keep wanting to submerge my face in cold water to close the pore, unfortunately even if I do that, it's only a temporary solution. Night World series by L.J. Smith [Book 07-09]

Here is another summary or Night World series. The last 4 book is focused on Wild Powers, the power to save the world -- or destroy it.

Missha All-Around Safe Block Mild Essence Sun Milk SPF 45/PA+++

I hate sun block. I don't hate what it do, I just hate the texture, the smell, and how gross it feels when I applied the thick, greasy, unpleasant smelling cream to my skin, and I hate how it makes my skin looks ghostly, unhealthy white. I know, I know that sun block is very important, especially in the place I live now. The sun is merciless and my skin in badly needs to be protected from all those nasty UVA and UVB. Both UVA and UVB cause damage, increase risk of cancer and aging to our skin, and overexposure to UVB causes sunburn. This is where SPF (Sun Protection Factor) play an important part, to shield our skin from overexposure of UVA and UVB.
Normally SPF only measure protection against the UVB rays, this is where PA comes in.

PA+ provides UVA protection against low to medium UV radiation.
PA++ provides moderate UVA protection against medium UV radiation.
PA+++ provides good UVA protection against strong and direct UV radiation.

Night World series by L.J. Smith [Book 01-03]

People capabilities may be limited, but our minds is free to roam. One of my most favorite things to do is reading, especially reading nice novel books. I may be a bit influenced by my mother, who loves reading, she's been giving me various books since I'm able to read. Speaking of learning to read, I used to hate learning how to read. I remember when I'm in first grade of elementary school, my mom used to shut me in my room with a book she want's me to read. And if I don't read the book she gave me, she will scold me, really bad. No wonder I hate reading back then.

But, turns out her teaching method (spartan may it be) is effective. I don't know when, but I'm starting to enjoy reading. She give me lots of books of various genre. Some is fairy tale, folklore, encyclopedia, etc. One of the first book my mom gave me is Childcraft Encyclopedia books set which I found to be very interesting.

And so my quest to collect various interesting books begin..

Have I told you before that work can be really tedious?

To distract me from work, I started to try and cook something delicious. Even though I used to live apart with my parent for more than 8 years, I don't cook much, not because I'm bad at it, I just can't muster the will to cook. I do like cooking, what I don't like is cleaning the mess! You know student life, all play and little to no work. I'm guilty of it. So when I'm a student, I rather spend my time with friends, reading, or strolling somewhere. I do cook once in a while, and sometimes I also invite my friend to try my cooking. But it's not very often, only once in a blue moon..

Anyway, since I started working, I often found myself bored, because I don't have as much time to play as when I'm still a student. So when I'm bored, I'm searching application in my smartphone. And for you who love to cook, you may find All The Cooks and All Recipes to be your best friend. They are for me. Most of the recipe is easy to make, and it's delicious too! Just make sure you read the comment first before trying some of the recipe.

Chinese Can Be Fun [chéngyǔ 成语 01]

I've told you before that I used to learn Chinese language in China, while I don't particularly like Chinese language, I do like to learn various language. Oh, and for you smartphone user, you may find Pleco Dictionary to be very useful in learning Chinese, I use this application myself, and it help me a lot!

After I learn Chinese for a while, I found out that Chinese people is very brilliant! How awesome is it to be able to draw using one or more character? Look at this exaple:

Can you see the word Měilì de gūniáng 美丽的姑娘 there? It means beautiful girl in English. and the picture represent the word itself! How cool is that?

Yummy Homemade Face Mask Recipe

My friend, ShanPing and I talk about the importance of skin care recently. While usually I don't do much skin care other than washing my face using a proper face wash (I'm using SK-II Facial Treatment Gentle Cleanser for a while now) I realize the importance of taking care of our skin, it won't look young and healthy forever you know.

A few years ago ShanPing and I study Mandarin language together in China. That's when we meet for the first time and we get along really well, we even discussed about rooming together, but we don't go through with it since we'd feel bad for our respective roommate at the time. But we still hang outs together everyday even though she's in a more advanced class than me (she's younger, but she's been in China for about a year already) and I'm still in the beginner class.

There's A First for Everything

Hello!

This is my first post and my first time ever (trying) to make a blog. Hope this will continue smoothly~

So here we are, anything goes, and I mean anything, from hobby, tips, recommendation, review, recipe, lesson, etc.

Let's start from introduction. My pen name is Haruka, I'm Indonesian and the reason why I use English for this first post is because I feel awkward writing using Indonesian (dunno why) and I wish to keep practicing my English so I don't forget it. My long-time hobby is reading -- I have no less than 5 bookshelf in my own bedroom -- and recently I love to cook which I will share with you in my next post. I also started to take interest in skin care and I will share my beauty regimen with you too sometimes later.
