Chicken Cream Stew

It's been so long since I last update this blog! My fault, I tend to obsess with one thing for a while, maybe several month until I feel bored and doing another thing which has captured my interest.
Anyway, lately I'm trying to search for an applications that can help me organize my messy and scattered recipe, and I found this awesome (though not completely free) application! It's not a new app, actually it's quite well established and almost every smart phone have this app from the start. I feel so foolish for not taking advantage of this app early on!
So this app is called Evernote, which I'm sure almost everyone have heard of this app. You know, that greenish-background, greyish-funny-looking elephant with a slightly folded ears in your smart phone.. This app isn't exactly a cookbook app that I'm searching for, but it can do quite well. And the best feature is that it can be used across almost any device! I'm sure lots of people hate typing on a phone, because the keypad is small and it's easy to typo, and I really hate typing on a touch-screen phone. I have a perfectionist tendency, and it's stressing me out whenever I input a typo. With Evernote, I can type any note on my laptop and read my note on my smartphone. The drawback is that we have to have an internet connection to sync the note on our laptop with the note on our smartphone, but it's not a big deal really.

For a free basic Evernote, you can get 60mb monthly uploads, clip any website, share and discuss on Evernote and sync across phones and computes. I think 60mb a month is pretty generous, considering that we only use it to store our note.. One note will only use maybe 500-800kb, so we can sync more than 70 note a month! Nice. So, this what jumpstart my love for writing, and now after I babble so much, I want to share a Japanese recipe with you. It's Chicken Cream Stew! Yum~ I actually not a big fan of soup, but for this one, I make an exception. It's simply phenomenal, and super easy to make.
Here's the recipe:

Chicken Cream Stew

(Found the recipe form the web and modify it a bit)

1 1/2 cups Chicken Breast, chopped
1/2 large Onion, chopped
1 large Potato, chopped
1 large Carrot, chopped
1 large Broccoli, chopped
2 tsp Chicken Stock
2 cups Water
1/3 cup AP Flour, shifted
3 cups Milk
2 tbsp Butter
Salt & Pepper for taste
Shredded Cheese (Optional)

Directions:
1. Sauté 1/2 large chopped Onion over medium heat, add 2 lb chopped Chicken Breast, cook until browned.
2. Add in 1 large chopped Potato, 1 large chopped Carrot, 2 cups of Water and 2 tsp of Chicken Stock, let simmer over low heat.
3. For the Cream Roux, in another pan, melt 2 tbsp Butter over medium-low heat, add 3 cups of Milk and 1/3 cup of shifted AP Flour, Mix well. Add salt and pepper to taste, and some Shredded Cheese.

4. Add in the Cream Roux into the Chicken Soup, stirring constantly. Lastly add 1 large chopped Broccoli, let simmer over low heat for a minute. If the consistency is too thick, add more milk, if too thin, add more ap flour or shredded cheese.

You can't do wrong with Cream Stew! Just try your own style, and you'll be fine. This is my mom's favorite,,
